Property/Development Accountant Jobs

Our client is on the search for a Property Development Accountant to provide accounting services. The Property Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day accounting tasks and duties related to the assigned portfolio, project, building, etc. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the accountant will undertake all aspects of financial management, regulatory and financial reporting. Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To

• Provide support to operations
• Assists the accounting group in preparing monthly and quarterly reporting packages for properties, which include a balance sheet, income statement, supporting schedules, and capital expenditure analysis
• Develops non-standard reports and statements according to guidelines
• Collaborates on projects to develop and implement new systems, reports, and tools, and tests these tools to identify any issues
• Provides accounts analysis, prepares variance analysis, maintains accurate and complete records and files, and responds to client inquiries as necessary and on a regular basis
• Assists with the day-to-day accounting of multi-tenant investment property buildings. Assists with all regular monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting associated with a portfolio of multi-tenant commercial and residential buildings

Your Strengths Include

• Strong technical proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Microsoft Excel
• 3+ years combined experience, including 2+ years practical experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Post-Secondary diploma or degree in Accounting
• Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
• Experience with Yardi or other property management accounting software preferred
