Job Description
The Project Manager PMO has the authority to run projects on a day-to-day basis. Verifying that the project produces the required deliverables within the specified constraints of time, quality and cost to achieve the potential benefits defined in the business case.


The projects are enterprise level of varying complexity and size within a matrix organizational structure. Deliverables can vary in scope from business to technology streams or a combination of both. Projects are delivered following a gated governance model and associated reporting into the portfolio of projects.


The Project Manager PMO will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities:


  • Identify resources to achieve project objectives in planned timeframes
  • Manage complex initiatives that span one or multiple lines of business
  • Provide leadership for the project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones
  • Monitor, track and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies and critical path deliverables
  • Manage project scope and changes
  • Report on project success criteria results, metrics, test and deployment management activities
  • Full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for one major or several minor initiatives simultaneously
  • Prepare estimates and detailed project plans for all tranches of the project
  • Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for the organization
  • Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence
  • Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project and program team
  • Understand interdependencies between technology, operations and business needs
  • Manage the day-to-day project activities and resources and chairs the project management team meetings


Competency Requirements


  • Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across and down multiple business and technology organizations
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence
  • Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands
  • Extensive understanding of project and program management principles, methods and techniques
  • Appropriate and effective communication to all levels within the organization
  • Proven ability to work in an ambiguous environment and collaborate across multiple areas in order to achieve a common business objective


Education Requirements


  • University degree or college diploma in project management or related education


Work Experience Requirements


  • 4+ years of experience working with business stakeholders within a cross-functional matrix environment
  • 4+ years of project management experience, including tracking and planning projects


Skills, Abilities, And Other Requirements


  • Knowledge and experience with various software including MS Office, specifically MS Project
  • Experience in SDLC Methodologies
  • Must obtain and maintain necessary security clearance
