Project Manager - Construction sector

Our client is a local leader in the construction and development industry. This first-class company has engaged Cameron Lappin of Lock Search Group to assist them in their search for a Project Manager to join their team. This is a unique opportunity for a position that will be responsible for the development, leadership, and management of multiple projects throughout the greater Vancouver region, and along the sea-to-sky corridor.
As a Project Manager in the construction division, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful planning, execution, and completion of residential construction projects. You will work closely with our clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Mentor and manage project team members, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Provide regular project updates to senior management and stakeholders.
- Monitor project budgets and financial performance, ensuring projects are completed within budget.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure construction progress and quality.
- Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project.
- Manage the entire project lifecycle, from initial planning to project closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring adherence to timelines and milestones.
- Oversee the procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery to the project site.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment on the construction site.
- Resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise during construction, providing timely and effective solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong leadership abilities, with the capacity to motivate and inspire team members to achieve project goals.
- Proficient in project management & construction software.
- Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes.
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in a full-service construction & development company, focusing on residential construction projects.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
