Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Production Lead (PL) will work collaboratively with production specialists to assemble products, maintain the inventory system, and complete the order fulfillment processes. Ashored is a growing company and the PL will play a key role in the formation, improvement, and monitoring of processes and assembly best practices. After becoming immersed in the position, the PL will become an important conduit for communicating output updates and expectations between the Production Team and the Sales/Logistics Team, while also assisting in transitioning products from quality assurance (QA) to customer delivery preparations. The PL will also support the R&D team in testing product features, refining product designs, implementing changes to BOM/assembly processes, and performing QA tests.



DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Support a culture of teamwork, enthusiasm, and proactive behaviour
  • Coordinate the needs of the manufacturing operation with internal teams
  • Apply learned expertise and past experiences to assigned projects and discussions
  • Assemble products and sub-components
  • Provide accurate status reports on assigned activities to the management team
  • Complete components and product inventory counts via Cloud ERP inventory system
  • Work closely with Ashored’s engineering and logistics teams
  • Represent the company effectively while working directly with partners and outside vendors/suppliers
  • Provide support in evaluating engineering changes presented by other team members to ensure impacts or risks are understood and recorded
  • Assist in the development, implementation, testing, and validation of products and sub-components
  • Provide production workers with direction during day-to-day operations
  • Create supporting documentation as needed
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Required:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and developing work culture
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Strong personal time management skills
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively and positively within a team
  • Ability to assume responsibility, show initiative, and adapt to new role requirements
  • Experience with a variety of hand tools
  • Positive attitude and team communication skills


Preferred:

  • Experience with ERP software (Cin7 Core)
  • Experience with electronics QA testing
  • Experience with soldering and precision assembly
  • Knowledge on marine life and ocean ecosystems (specific knowledge on lobsters, crabs, and/or whales is considered an additional asset)
  • Experience with lathes, CNC machines, 3D printers, and other mechanical equipment



LOCATION

Current:

  • 14-275 Rocky Lake Drive, Bedford, Nova Scotia


Potential:

  • Must be able to travel to potential new facility within the HRM/Halifax, (Eastern/Southern) Hants, or (Southern) Colchester counties



COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • 35 hours per week guaranteed
  • Wages: $23.00-25.25 per hour (35-42 hours per week)
  • Extended Health Benefits available to employees after 90 days



EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS
  • Class 5 and Class 1 driver’s licenses (considered an asset)
  • SVOP, PCOC, & ROC(M) (considered an asset)
  • No special certifications are required for this position
  • Supervisory, production, electronic design, and mechanical design/repair/assembly related certifications (considered an asset)
