Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:

As the Product Development Assistant (PDA), you support the Product Creation Development Team in their efforts to develop a consistent level of quality, promoting Arc’teryx as a brand that consistently exceeds customer expectations.

This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is expected to be performed on location.

Meet Your Future Team:

We are a small, high performing team that works closely with all aspects of product creation. The work we do behind the scenes supports Designers and Product Developers to accomplish go-to-market deliverables. You will be part of a focused team of Product Developers, Designers, Design Developers, Pattern Makers, and a Cut & Sew team that works on creating innovative product. Our team builds strong relationships with cross-functional partners to realize ideas into commercialized successes.

If you were the Product Development Assistant now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

  • Organizing and maintaining team sample racks
  • Supporting the Product Creation Development Team with all aspects of product development, including (but not limited to) data entry, compiling spec packages, coordinating raw materials for sampling, product testing and washing, for concept and proto samples
  • Organizing all sampling inventory and archiving
  • Communicating with factories and collaborating with the Colour Team to track strike-off development as required
  • Supporting throughout the sample process, from concepting through to fit approved stage
  • Contributing to the design maker phase alongside your product creation partners
  • Ordering approved raw materials, stock transfers and supplies for the Design and Development teams as required
  • Organizing approved raw material inventory within the design centre, and supporting the material needs for the design maker phase
  • Preparing commercial invoices, tracking packages to factories and providing product details to support logistic requirements, from concept through to fit approved stage
  • Ensuring the timely delivery of all PDA responsibilities against product creation calendars

Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:

  • Collaborating to create efficient processes in fabric material inventories, sample tracking, and shipping
  • Creating strong cross-functional relationships with Raw Materials, Design, and Cut & Sew teams, amongst others
  • Supporting Product Developers in managing models
Are you our next Product Development Assistant?

  • Your passion for your work is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living it
  • You seek the best (but sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment to do what is right
  • You have a strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • You are proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
  • You have strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement
  • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity
  • You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
  • You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration
  • You demonstrate intercultural fluency and can collaborate with diverse teams
  • You have a post-secondary education in apparel or textile design, technology, merchandising, or the equivalent experience
  • You have a knowledge of garment construction
