Pipefitter / Boilermaker Technician Jobs

What role you will play in our team

As a Piperfitter / Boilermaker / Welder at Imperial Oil Sarnia Site, you will be working within the site mechanical department whose role is to execute routine and turnaround maintenance to ensure safe and reliable operation of site processing equipment.

What You Will Do

• Utilizing approved standards to facilitate maintenance and repairs to pressure vessels, heat exchangers, furnaces, boilers, piping and structures.
• Execution of all work consistent with an "all injuries and incidents can be prevented" work ethic.
• Performing rigging and hoisting activities.
• Interpreting drawings for layout, fabrication & installation of piping equipment.
• Repair reporting and documentation.
• Troubleshooting and execution of cross trade tasks based on capability and experience.
• Preparing isometric drawings from field measurements for shop & fabrication of piping systems and fabricating piping systems.
• Setting up and operating shop & field welding equipment.
• Perform welding on carbon steel, stainless steel and chrome piping systems utilizing a variety of techniques.

About You

Skills and Qualifications

• Must have Journey Person Pipefitter ticket or Certified Red Seal Interprovincial Pipefitter, or
• Red Seal Boilermaker Certification or three-year apprenticeship program.
• High school diploma or equivalent is minimum requirement.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

• Able to react/respond safely to stress related work activities/emergencies.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Able to clearly communicate with others both written & verbally.
• Must have a minimum of five years relevant experience, preferably with refinery knowledge or background.
• Effectively manage time and priorities.
• Capable of climbing, lifting & other physical activities for specific periods of time.
