Patient Service Partner - Schulich Heart Centre: Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (Cicu) - Regular Part-Time (2023-231336)

We currently have a Regular Part-Time (0.53 FTE) opportunity for a Patient Service Partner in the Schulich Heart Centre: Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) Department at our Bayview Campus.

Hours Of Work

Weekdays and Alternating Weekend: Days, Evenings, 12 hrs; As per schedule

Summary of Duties:

Working with the professional team, the Patient Services Partner: participates in the caring of patients by providing a variety of support services to the team and patients; participates as a member of the team in a manner that reflects the Hospital philosophy and mission of service; and promotes and maintains good public relations with patients, families, visitors and Hospital staff. The Patient Services Partner will be working in the Schulich Heart Centre with his/her primary responsibility in the Gilbert Cardiac ICU and Schulich Short Stay Unit. The PSP will be required to assist with patient care and other unit duties and responsibilities, and the decontamination of patient care areas and equipment. The PSP may also be required to assist on other units in the Schulich Heart Centre as needed.

Qualifications/Skills

• Flexibility and willingness to take direction
• Must be prepared and able to use all personal protective equipment
• Recent PSP experience required, experience in acute care and/or critical care setting preferred
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
• Infection Prevention and Control Certificate required
• Proven ability to work under pressure and to handle various tasks within a limited time frame
• Must have attended WHMIS training
• Must be accustomed to high patient acuity
• PSW Certificate or completed the Sunnybrook PSP (formerly PSA) course is preferred
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Minimum Grade 11 or equivalent as recognized by the Province of Ontario Ministry of Education
• Two (2) years of related health care experience required
• Good communication skills (both written and oral)
• Demonstrates excellent customer service
