Job Summary & Key Responsibilities


The School of Dental Hygiene, Faculty of Dentistry, Dalhousie University, is seeking applications for one part-time position at the rank of instructor as per CUPE collective agreement. The instructor will be responsible to coordinate and teach Introduction to Health Research DEHY 4011 from September 1 to December 22, 2023. As per the CUPE agreement, there will be a remuneration of $6478.00 for each of the 3 credit hour course. The course is delivered in a blended in-person and online format. Generally lectures are given in person and assignments and tests are administered via the Brightspace learning platform.


Qualifications/Requirements Of Position


Dental hygiene students will learn in DEHY 4011 the fundamentals of research and to analyze and critique research articles relevant to dental hygiene practice. Applicants must hold a thesis based Masters degree in health sciences. A PhD degree is preferred. Applicants must have experience in oral health research as evidenced by a CV and or publication record. Experience teaching in a dental hygiene program is preferred. Applicants should be experienced and comfortable using an online learning platform.


Salary Range/Pay Rate per the CUPE Collective Agreement
