Job Description

Their team of experts specializes in problem-solving and has a history of doing the impossible. They are looking for a Parts and Service Manager to supervise all aspects of the physical inventory management as well as shipping and parts counter sales.


Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the JOHSC Committee meetings as necessary
  • Manage best practices regarding paperwork, cost control, and cross-border compliance
  • Provide accurate and up-to-date reporting to various departments regarding inventory level
  • Verify receiving shipments, returns, and transfers in a timely manner
  • Manage and oversee rental returns and equipment turnover
  • Ensure that we are getting value from our suppliers and vendors and sourcing new suppliers that may be more cost-effective or have better quality
  • Inspection of returned parts and equipment such as crane remotes and AMCS systems
  • Attend monthly safety meetings
  • Reviewing and closing sales to ensure aging is kept to a minimum
  • Assist with building inspections, maintenance, and repair schedules
  • Management of inbound & outbound parts and equipment tables
  • Completion of all paperwork required to ensure accurate parts and inventory management
  • Factory communication and follow-up on parts warranty claims
  • Manage sales budgets and promote growth individually and as a department
  • Operate forklifts and yard cranes as required for shipping and receiving duties
  • Manage and oversee the preparation of inbound/outbound parts tables for technicians
  • Assist customers in direct parts requests. Prepare accurate quotations and follow up with customers to close sales
  • Monitor freight recovery to ensure budget margins and projections are achieved
  • Ongoing communication and follow-up with customers and staff on ETA of parts requests
  • Ensure the inventory system is set up with max(s) & min(s) as well as all seasonal adjustments
  • Ensure accuracy and efficiency on all parts orders and returns
  • Meet and exceed established departmental sales targets (KPIs)
  • Finding new opportunities that can bring in additional revenue streams
  • Reviewing sales and profit margins to ensure budget margins are achieved
  • Develop processes and procedures to ensure maximum efficiency in all aspects of the job
  • Manage multiple vendors and develop an ongoing understanding of price, quality, delivery time, etc. for all our parts and equipment requirements
  • Generate revenue through parts counter sales through proactive communication with new and existing customers
  • Perform inventory audits as required
  • Retain a level 1 first aid certificate and be the First Aid Attendant for the office and yard
  • Manage the sourcing and acquisition of parts in a timely manner for customers, inside sales, service department, and technicians


Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, ability to manage a variety of activities simultaneously, good judgment, flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills
  • Able to foster and maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized warehouse on an ongoing basis
  • Willing to upgrade skills as may be required and or requested by the company
  • Previous experience in a warehousing environment is also highly valuable
  • Understands the business need to communicate frequently in a proactive fashion to keep multiple departments apprised of parts status
  • Ability to develop and implement systems and procedures when they are required
  • Familiar with efficient shipping/receiving techniques as well as cross-border requirements
  • Understand inventory management and able to source, acquire, and stock parts and equipment
  • A good understanding of the workings of the equipment including their mechanical and electrical functions
  • Able to train and mentor junior staff in inventory management, sales, parts, logistics, and warehousing functions
  • Sales skills with the ability to produce parts quotations as well as follow up and close sales on an ongoing basis
  • Ability to maintain the parts database, parts pricing and costs, produce estimates and quotes
  • Able to recognize and capture opportunities while being a champion of innovation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and other associated programs utilized by the company
