Established in 1976 the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT) is a First Nation governed post-secondary institution. This position provides additional support as required and includes the following broad range of accountabilities


The Outreach & Engagement Assistant works collaboratively with the department and is accountable to help manage logistics involved with various training, workshops, and events held by the department, and Mobile MakerLodge, anticipate project needs and balance tight deadlines. This position is accountable for assisting with planning, coordinating, and executing Mobile MakerLodge events and assisting with initiatives led by the Program Coordinator. The position is accountable to synchronize all logistics involved in the successful completion of events.


  • Assist in finalizing all logistics for assigned events and projects
  • Help manage and maintain inventory of assets within the project
  • Support data collection on events, assess results and make recommendations for future project planning and delivery
  • Help Program Coordinator with delivery of Mobile MakerLodge activities, trainings, workshops, and events
  • Support research for venue contracts, locations and help with tasks to secure contracts for trainings and booking of appropriate spaces
  • Work with other team members to maintain relationships with peer organizations, funders, and external stakeholders through personal communication and collaborative outreach
  • Help with purchase order coordination: distribution to vendors, creation of purchase orders, appropriate coding, and ensuring established procedures are followed
  • Provide administrative support for events as required
  • Support Program Coordinator with interacting with facilitators, students, clients as required and provide creative solutions to issues as they arise
  • Prepare program and promotional materials, according to SIIT guidelines, and distribute as required
  • Support with event logistics such as materials, equipment (including A/V), on-site production, set up/take down, and other event requirements


Required Qualifications and Experience: Successful completion of a certificate or diploma, combined with at least two years of relevant presentation or facilitator experience. Good understanding of administrative processes and procedures coupled with a proven proficiency with a variety of software programs in the Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel, Word and Access); a minimum typing speed of 60 wpm is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Knowledge of First Nations cultures and organizations would be an asset. Candidate must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation as travel may be required.


This is a full time, term position until January 2024.
