Otc Settlement Analyst Jobs

Our client, a leader in the banking industry is seeking an OTC Settlement Analyst for a 6-month contract, with the possibility of extension or becoming a permanent role. This is a hybrid position in their downtown Toronto office, with the candidate coming in twice monthly. In this role, you will be responsible for processing OTC derivative settlements for the banks interest-rate clients, using a system called Calypso. Swift experience would be an asset as the role entails sending swift messages to various clients, paying out the interest on the interest rate swap, or, ensuring that funds are settled properly, when client-side owes interest on an interest rate swap. The role is fast-paced and requires strong communication. A successful candidate would be meticulous, detail-oriented and show due diligence to avoid mistakes in fund releases, privacy breaches, etc.

Responsibilities:

• Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
• Deals with clients directly to resolve issues and/or escalates as required.
• Develops and maintains effective relationships with internal & external stakeholders to execute work and fulfill service delivery expectations.
• Follows documented policies and procedures to execute day to day transactions, activities, processes and ensure all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met. Checks and reconciles information and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Communicates and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders in order to deliver on business objectives.
• Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
• Provides timely and accurate settlement of OTC Derivative globally, and confirms the activity is accurately recorded in the bank's book of records.
• Works mostly independently.

Must-Have Skills:

• Previous banking experience is a nice to have
• Detail-oriented
• Knowledge and understanding of the business unit’s key products and services, processes, and controls.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of the risk and regulatory requirements of the business.
• 1-3 years relevant experience (also open to New grads) and/or relevant education (Finance degree).
• Knowledge and experience using relevant systems and technology (Calypso, Swift).

• PC skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
