Job Description

Eastern Canada Response Corporation is hiring for the role of Operations Support based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. The position is focused on oil spill response preparedness activities, maintenance and testing of oil spill response equipment, facility maintenance and training of oil spill responders. During oil spill response events, the position is part of the ECRC~SIMEC spill management team.


Essential Qualifications:

• Self-Motivated team player capable of functioning in a dynamic environment.

• Ability to function in challenging response situations that require occasional short-notice travel.

• A positive approach to working safely and fostering a strong safety culture.

• Excellent written and oral communication combined with experience using computer-based applications – word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation software.

• Ability to take on-call duty on a rotational basis

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license.

• Experience in the Marine, Environmental, Industrial, or Mechanical industries.


Desirable qualifications include:

• Experience with the operation of small vessels.

• Experience and/or training in adult instruction.

• Experience with supervising projects and groups of workers.

• Experience in preventative maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment.

• Experience and ability to follow standard operating procedures and company policies.

• Bilingual (English and French).
