Cardinal Health Canada, with over 1300 employees nationwide, is an essential link in the Canadian healthcare supply chain, providing over 70,000 products to healthcare facilities and medical professionals across the country.
Reporting to the Director of Operations, this position is accountable for the operational effectiveness of all activities related to distribution operations at the William Osler Health Centre, a multi-site hospital facility. All operations staff report through to the Operations Manager through two Operations Supervisors. The Operations Manager leads the planning and logistics coordination of medical distribution activities in conjunction with other partners.
This role is responsible to maintain total Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) as mutually defined with the WOHC and act upon any changes in these indicators. The Operations Manager will be responsible for resolving issues escalated beyond the Operations Supervisors or the Materials Management group.
The Operations Manager performs all duties associated with the warehouse in accordance with all Cardinal Health standard operating procedures and regulatory guidelines.
Selected employee will need to primarily work out of Brampton Civic Hospital but will also need to frequent Etobicoke General Hospital weekly.
Your Contributions to the Organization will be:
- Problem and issue resolution when escalated beyond Operations Supervisor, Materials Services employees
- Key contact for managing total service delivery
- Preparation and maintenance of total KPI’s
- Responsible for managing the inventory and service levels established by the client.
- Responsible for all medical products entering and leaving the loading dock area of each Project Facilities
- Performance to operating cost and headcount budgets, on time service performance, receiving turnaround time and customer service levels, on floor productivity rates
- Establishes productivity and quality control standards, develops budget and cost controls, and collects measurement data to demonstrate progress and develop new targets.
- Determines responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives.
- Establishes operational procedures for adherence to RAQA standard operating procedures and develops specific SOP’s for hospital variations.
- Ensure scheduling of employees covers all activities, all required days
- Participates in planning personnel safety and facility protection activities.

- Understands budgeting and forecasting and can analyze financial results in terms of cost drivers
- Direct activities for Stores, Receiving and Distribution at the William Osler Health Centre sites
- Monitoring of changing demand and adjustment of quota levels to maintain established service levels.
The Job might be for you if you:
- You have a strong Workplace Health and Safety background; WSIB and First Aid Certification (Preferred)
- Have warehousing experience: 5 years (Preferred)
- You can interpret and provide training on policies and procedure
- BA, BS or equivalent experience in operations related field (Preferred)
- You enjoy problem-solving, adapting to change and reprioritizing on short-notice
- You have proven leadership, problem solving and team building skills
- Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or higher (Preferred)
- You have Material Handling Equipment Training experience, which is considered an asset
- You have excellent communication skills (verbal, written and group presentation skills)
- You enjoy working with computers and have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel
