DESCRIPTION:
Robert Half is recruiting now for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to fulfill an exciting contract/temporary role with our Client. The ideal candidate will have practical knowledge of QoS and routing protocols such OSPF, RIP, EIGRP, BGP, MPLS VPN, VLANs, and NAT, as well as firewalls and Cisco products experience. You will utilize your problem-solving skills to resolve issues that have progressed through support tiers and troubleshoot concerns with network performance. You will be using network security procedures that are coordinated, planned, and put into action to protect data, software, and hardware. This role is based in Edmonton, AB., but is open to hybrid remote work concessions (work from home/work from office) for eligible candidates located within the Edmonton, AB., region.

Requirements
MUST HAVES:

• The capacity to set up, manage, and resolve issues with network infrastructure equipment such as wireless access points, firewalls, routers, switches, and controllers.
• Knowledge of firewall functionality and upkeep.
• The capacity to analyze issues and picture solutions.
• Systems for network security and monitoring
• A self-starter who can work independently but feels at ease in a collaborative setting.
• Understanding of network infrastructure and application transport protocols.
• Product knowledge from Cisco.
• 5+ years of network engineering expertise.
• A bachelor's degree in computer science or a closely related discipline.
• Working knowledge of switches, routers, load balancers, and other networking hardware
• Proficiency with general networking protocols including the TCP/IP stack.
• The capacity to collaborate with personnel at all organizational levels, both inside and outside of IT.
