Job Description

ACTA is an established national trade association representing the retail travel sector of Canada’s travel industry. Our priorities are advocacy, education, promoting the value of booking with a professional travel advisor and attracting new travel advisors to our industry. Our Members are Travel Agencies and Travel Advisors. ACTA also has travel suppliers and colleges as allied Members.


Key Responsibilities:

Member Services

  • Assist with member networking and education events.
  • Assist with membership acquisition and renewal campaigns (payments, renewal kits, membership cards, generate database lists, database entry).
  • Respond to ACTA members inquiries (e.g., triage inquires and respond, or forward to the appropriate team member).
  • Update ACTA’s Member database and ensure the content is accurate and complete.
  • Assist with research and administration of additional Member programs and rewards.
  • Process member benefit requests (MemberPerks, Travel Advisor AD75 etc.), and Membership authorization letters.
  • Respond to consumer complaints about ACTA Members following ACTA’s defined process.

Administration and Research Support

  • Assist with administrative support (bank deposits, ordering supplies, arranging deliveries, etc.)
  • Assist with ACTA Office Administration (e.g., Office Phone/Fax, updating of Office Policies and Procedures, etc.)
  • Assist with research and reporting as needed.
  • ACTA is a small team and each team member may have to assist with additional initiatives from time to time.


Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship building skills.
  • French language would be a strong asset.
  • Experience working in the travel or tourism industry would be an asset.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member in a home office environment.
  • Fully competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)

Qualifications:

College Diploma or University degree in Business administration or Travel and Tourism, or a Minimum of two years’ relevant work experience.

Location: This is a work from home position.

Reporting:Member Manager(s) and Office Administrator.
