About The Opportunity
The Medical Transcriptionist is responsible for transcribing medical reports, answering phones, releasing medical information, inputting and retrieving data from the Laboratory Information System (LIS), including consult accessioning, prompt and accurate filing of reports and slides, and providing relief for other clerical duties within the work area.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
  • Knowledge of Laboratory Information Systems (Cerner Millennium) an asset
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Medical Terminology Certificate required
  • Two years related experience preferred
  • Effective organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Minimum of 60 wpm
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
  • Grade 12 plus successful completion of a recognized medical secretarial or medical transcription program
  • Experience in medical transcription

Hours
  • Long Assignment, Full-Time position; 70 hours bi-weekly
  • Beginning as soon as possible for approximately 12 months
  • Dates are approximate and are subject to change
Compensation and Incentives
$20.25 - $22.50 hourly
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
