Job Description
Transdev is now hiring Heavy-Duty, Truck-and-Transport or Automotive Red Seal Mechanics, for our Fort McMurray, Alberta location!


We are seeking permanent, full-time mechanics. We are also offering a competitive hourly rate of $54.52/hr and a 14-day on, 14-day off schedule.

Red Seal Journeyman Mechanic (Technician) Major Responsibilities:


  • Remove, overhaul and reinstall mechanical components with minimal supervision.
  • Notify supervisor of potentially dangerous equipment and corrective action taken.
  • Ensure work orders are completed properly and accurately.
  • Maintain records of all maintenance work completed including parts and supplies used.
  • Lead preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections and annual maintenance inspections.
  • Adhere to First Transit standards, policies and procedures.
  • Lead road calls and emergency services as necessary.
  • Diagnose and perform accurately all phases of vehicle and equipment repair under minimal supervision. Repairs include brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmission clutches and other repairs.
  • Evaluate completed work prior to release and seek approval where required.
  • Move vehicles safely between job and work area.
  • Perform other responsibilities as requested or required.


Red Seal Journeyman Mechanic (Technician) Qualifications:


  • Air endorsement is required.
  • Adhere to provincial CVSE standards and Federal Motor Vehicle Act.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to work assigned shift.
  • Advanced problem-solving ability.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Must be able to obtain Class 2 license within 3 months of hire.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
  • Red Seal in Commercial Transport and/or Heavy Duty On-Road.
  • Must have appropriate mechanic’s tool set.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
