Spark Education Group is looking for a Lead Teacher to support our first Bay Area offline learning center. Our technology offerings have already helped to spark a love of learning for children in over 650,000 families across the world. We're excited to now offer our same high-quality online curriculum in-person.
This role is ideal for an experienced teacher with a passion for learning and entrepreneurship. They will be the Lead Teacher of this first learning center, working closely with our pedagogy team to define our offline class offerings and ensuring that we create a transformative learning experience for our students. In addition to helping to lead curriculum design and lesson planning, the Lead Teacher will also have the opportunity to teach small group classes and engaging with parents. This will be a challenging and rewarding experience, with significant opportunities for growth as the business expands. Responsibilities
1. Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons, promoting the general progress and well-being of students;
2. Create an online classroom culture that is welcoming and positive;
3. Utilize a wide variety of teaching methods to create differentiated opportunities for deep understanding for all learners;
4. Drive outstanding student achievement for all students in your classroom;
5. Establish and maintain good relationships with students and parents;
6. Provide regular updates to parents on students’ performance and progress;
7. Assess, record and report on development and progress of students;
8. Attend and participate in curriculum meetings and trainings;
We would love for you to have:
1. A diploma or Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with relevant specialization/Degree in Education;
2. 1-2 years of relevant professional teaching experience;
3. Outstanding verbal, non-verbal and written skills;
4. Excellent interpersonal, organization and time management skills;
5. Creative, positive and energetic disposition;
6. Continually strive for improvement;
7. Computer-literate;
As you will be working from home, you will be required to have:
1. A personal computer with a built-in or separate webcam;
2. Headset fitted with a microphone;
3. Quick and steady internet connection;
4. A well-lit, distraction-free environment from which to conduct your lessons.
