New Value Solutions is a national IT consulting company and we are searching for a DRP Consultant to assist with our clients' Disaster Recovery and Planning program. This is a contract opportunity and remote.
The successful candidates will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and testing disaster recovery plans for our client to ensure the continuity of IT services in the event of any work or service disruption. A strong understanding of Information Technology infrastructure is required.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive IT disaster recovery plans tailored to our client's pecific needs and infrastructure.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and potential threats to the organization's IT systems and infrastructure.
- Conduct an impact analysis to identify the impact to the business from such service disruptions. The impact can be to its revenues and service levels.
- Coordinate a disaster recovery test or assist our client in their testing of the DRP. Identify areas needing improvement in the DRP.
- Working with the client, assist in the training of their IT staff on disaster recovery roles and procedures.
- Collaborate with any 3rd vendors and service providers to ensure their disaster recovery capabilities align with the client's needs.
- Ensure all disaster recovery strategies, processes, and procedures are well documented.
- Communicate with all stakeholders on the DRP plan, testing, test results, roles and procedures.
- Recommend tools and technologies where appropriate.
- Assist with client budgeting on the DRP Plan.
Requirements:
- Strong and proven experience in providing and testing of a full enterprise DRP Plan.
- Knowledge of industry best practices and standards to DRP.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as ISO 27031.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- proven ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders (IT, management, etc.).
- Experience with cloud technologies an asset.
- Experience with specific disaster recovery software and tools.
- Project management experience.
