Job Description

The Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies to optimize marketing effectiveness in their assigned division (Animal Nutrition) and enhance our customer and principal experience. In addition, the Marketing Specialist may provide assistance and support to the entire marketing department and collaborate with others throughout the organization.

Essential Duties and responsibilities*

  • Collect information or specifications for use in data sheets, promotional publications, presentations, brochures and prepare drafts
  • Gather data on existing and potential customers, competitors, or market segments for use in the development of targeted marketing strategies
  • Perform other duties as requested
  • Responsible for the creation and execution of e-mail marketing, videos, webinars, blogs, formulations, booklets, print/digital ads, graphics, charts, and social media campaigns
  • Proofread marketing collateral (ads, product guides, articles, press releases, etc.)
  • Develop and administer a calendar of marketing campaigns or other promotional opportunities including trade shows, etc. and ensure associated deadlines are met
  • Support executives, sales, and other departments as requested
  • Work independently and in a team environment on various ongoing projects
  • Participate in weekly North American Marketing Team meetings
  • Experience with Uberflip or Paperflite content management software, a plus
  • Support and lead by example, Barentz’ culture, values and fundamentals
  • Update & maintain division website with products, content, employees, press releases, blogs, headshots
  • Participate in ongoing personal development opportunities
  • Assist with tradeshow booth preparation (banners, literature, promos, shipping, set up)
  • Work closely with Global Marcom to support Barentz’ social media presence on LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter for Animal Nutrition division.
  • Collaborate with sales on marketing tools, projects, product guides, sell sheets, business cards, etc.
  • Write company-wide press releases for media
  • In collaboration with the marketing team, work with translator to develop French materials
  • Coordinate feature product information for monthly e-mail newsletters
  • Work directly with the Marketing Manager to coordinate corporate branding over Barentz’ multiple divisions.

Qualifications

  • Act legally and ethically in all professional relationships in adherence with Barentz’ values and fundamentals.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt communication style to the audience as needed.
  • Hands on experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), Microsoft Office (PowerPoint), CMS for webpage content (some HTML required), social media apps, Constant Contact, and Hootsuite
  • At least three (3) years of marketing experience
  • The ability to work in a team environment, prioritize work assignments and act independently
  • Software knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Self-motivated, high energy, and engaging level of enthusiasm and positive outlook.
  • Exceptional proofreading skills
  • Strong attention to detail, data entry and organizational skills
  • Experience in Animal Nutrition market a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to be proactive on marketing ideas that create value for the organization and assigned vertical
