Marina Labourer (2) (Tft) (Cupe 88.23)

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for aquatic weed pick up (including removal of debris from marina waterways)
• Ensure accurate collection and processing of all revenue collected from fuel docks, ramp and ice sales
• Collect and monitor ramp fees from boaters using daily ramps
• To provide safe operational and maintenance procedures for all staff to follow in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety policies and modern building maintenance procedures
• Responsible for duties related, but not limited to, horticultural operations within Marina (i.e. grass cutting, weed eating, general landscaping)
• Removal of decks and walkways for winter storage
• Maintain and inspect lighthouses in both marinas
• Assist with moving boats using 50,000 KG capacity marine travel lift
• Setting out/removing parking blocks seasonally
• Graffiti removal from buildings and structures
• Assist with spring launching of boats
• Winterizing the docks (i.e., blowing out water lines, removing any residual items, removal of seasonal safety equipment)
• Installation/removal of docks in Port Rowan Harbour Marina
• Removal/installation of fuel tanks, fuel pumps and pump out machine seasonally
• Set up winter storage by placing cradles in designated spots by utilizing forklift
• Responsible for customer service; collecting and monitoring ramp fees from boaters using daily ramps; register visiting boaters; assist seasonal/transient boaters to tie up and cast off from mooring well
• Responsible for fuel dock services (adhere to Marina pump out and fueling procedures when servicing boaters); pump out boater waste tanks
• Take dock-walks, to ensure lighting is working properly, boats are tied properly and safe, and there are no obstacles on the docks and safety equipment is working and in place
• Assist with goose management program
• Responsible for daily, monthly and seasonal inspections
• Responsible for duties related, but not limited to facilities maintenance within Marina (i.e. buildings, picnic shelter, walkways, docks and parking lot )
• Able to operate and assist in routine maintenance of Marina equipment such as, forklift, Kubota, riding lawnmower, tractor and power washing equipment or have ability to learn
• Assists seasonal/transient boaters to tie up and cast off from mooring well
• Responsible for janitorial duties related, but not limited to cleaning facilities maintenance (i.e. washrooms, showers, office area, fueling and pumping stations), painting/refurbishing projects- internal and external, window cleaning, stripping and waxing floors, cleaning storage areas, empty garbage and recycling containers and maintain lighting (inside and outside)

Requirements

Knowledge and Experience:

• 3 months relevant experience
• Successfully completed Grade 12 or GED equivalent

Skills and Abilities:

• Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
• Must be aware of safe work practices as they relate to job responsibilities and work environment, and have the basic understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
