Job DetailsThe Digital Content Team is hiring a Manager, Senior Digital Content Writer to help oversee the creation and publication of dynamic corporate content that aligns to the strategic objectives of the Corporate & Public Affairs (CAPA) division of TD.


The ideal candidate for this role is a talented and versatile digital storyteller, strong writer and editor, and veteran digital content publisher who understands how to tell compelling stories across channels to engage audiences on multiple online platforms.


The Skills And Attributes Needed For This Role Include


  • Ready to work closely and collaboratively with colleagues to ensure that our team is sharing stories in an engaging way, while leveraging all the channels available to us.
  • Experience working with freelancers, including providing editorial direction and feedback to a team of writers as well as editing first drafts for clarity and to ensure editorial alignment.
  • An ability to produce a variety of high-quality content on deadline, including executive bylines, policy-based position statements, and compelling profiles of colleagues and partners.
  • A background in producing content related to ESG (environmental, sustainability, governance) subject areas will be considered an asset.
  • Our ideal candidate has experience with applying SEO (search engine optimization) to content creation, and is savvy in the world of data, analytics and digital publishing.
  • A critical eye for editing, including the ability to coach and mentor junior writers to help them improve.
  • Writing, packaging and publishing content for external audiences, leveraging traditional, online and social assets.
  • Exceptional editing and copywriting skills. A background in journalism, content creation, or corporate communications will be considered an asset.
  • Ability to liaise with communications colleagues throughout the content development process to help shape story angles, edit articles, source multimedia assets, and publish content.
  • An interest in branded storytelling, best practices, and telling engaging stories that make an impact.
  • An aptitude for ideating and proactively bringing ideas to the table, as well as brainstorming as part of a team.
  • The ability to ideate, pitch and see content through to completion and publication.


What will you do?


  • You will advise colleagues and partners on content strategy and storytelling while building internal support for our channels and stories.
  • You will be a champion for content excellence, and play a key role in evolving the stories that we tell and how we share them with our key audiences, advising colleagues and partners on how to develop more compelling content.
  • You will make suggestions to help improve our editorial approach, by leveraging data and analytics to drive better content and packaging insights for colleagues and partners to evolve with each approach.
  • You will edit written and multimedia content that will be featured on TD Stories.
  • You will write short and long-form content to be published on TD Stories.
  • You will write, package and deliver content to employee and external audiences, leveraging digital and social assets.
  • Assist with new communications initiatives and digital storytelling channels as needed and act as a champion for these.
  • You will work with a team of freelancers to help them create content for TD Stories.
  • You will work closely with a team of communicators to develop content strategies and produce engaging editorial content that is both assigned to and pitched by you.
  • With your digital skills, we'll look for you to produce content across a number of platforms (online, social and mobile) that will help influence stakeholders and drive engagement.
  • You will look for opportunities to incorporate current affairs into content that resonates with employees and an external audience.
Job Requirements


  • Ideal candidate would have 5 – 7 years' experience in digital content creation or journalism, or a blend of journalism and some corporate or agency experience.
  • Understanding of how to communicate to different audiences, with experience planning content, editing copy and managing timelines.
  • A portfolio of samples/a writing test may be requested should you be contacted for an interview.
  • Self-motivated, ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment and excel under tight deadlines.
  • Skills related to user experience and web accessibility.
  • You know how to research and leverage statistics and facts for storytelling.
  • You're an editor with a keen eye for compelling content with great attention to detail.
  • You have an interest in helping elevate the Bank's thought leadership position in the ESG arena.
  • Passion for storytelling and an adept writer. You are creative, curious about your subjects, and can write short or long-form copy.
  • Knowledge of digital storytelling, social media platforms and how to amplify content across multiple mediums.
  • Post-secondary education, preferably in a related field.
