Full Time (2 year term certain assignment with potential to extend)
$65,968.50 (Annual Salary)

HIRO is unique in its ability to provide evidence-based, client and family centered ABI rehabilitation care in the community. We work with clients and their families to achieve goals that are meaningful for them throughout our continuum of care; from six residential care homes, to transitional living apartments and to community services including group as well as outreach. HIRO serves people from across Ontario through services in Hamilton, Burlington, Niagara, St. Catharines, Brant and Haldimand-Norfolk regions. During the COVID-19 pandemic HIRO has implemented a leading-edge infection prevention and control program that goes beyond legislative and regulatory requirements and adopts rigorous best practices to ensure client and staff safety.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
Here is an opportunity to grow and develop within the agency as a member of the management team.Management experience is not required, as training and mentorship will be provided, but knowledge of clients with ABI and the desire to lead a team to provide safe, high-quality supports are a must!
The Manager of Care is accountable for the development, implementation and monitoring of rehabilitation programs for clients with acquired brain injuries, who live in our supported living apartments
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordination of Household Services:
·Supervise daily shift meetings and facilitate plans for the shift;
·Maintain employee schedule;
·Oversee and approve payroll;
·Approve monthly reconciliation of petty cash;
·Coordinate regularly scheduled and ad hoc maintenance for the site.
Administrative Responsibilities:
·With HR support, recruit and train new team members;
·Performance management of team members;
·Conduct employee reviews;
·Document personnel issues and manage routine personnel issues in consultation with HR;
·Approve or deny vacation requests, etc.;
·Monitor budget and ensure budget is within guidelines;
·Participate in management team meetings;
·Sign off as supervisor and make recommendations on Employee Accident/Incident Record.
·Facilitate monthly meeting with health and safety representative to review workplace inspection forms, complete WSIB forms and investigation reports as required;
·Stay current with and adhere to agency policies and procedures;
·Participate in professional development opportunities and conduct staff meetings;
·Participate in annual budget planning.
Indirect/Direct Client Service:
·Support staff with escalated or difficult client matters and completing all necessary client documentation;
·Ensure client goals are monitored;
·Collaborate with interdisciplinary clinical team;
·Support staff in completing all necessary client documentation;
·Implement crisis intervention strategies when applicable;

·While adhering to HIRO’s mission, vision and values, lead by example;
·Demonstrate professional and ethical business practices
·Provide care and consider the needs of others using a person-centred care approach
·Participate in agency-wide Manager On Call program
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
To be considered you will have:
·A bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology or related and relevant field preferred;
·At least 3 years experience working in a rehabilitation and community integration framework;
·Demonstrated leadership, organizational and multi-talking skills;
·Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
·Supervisory experience is an asset;
·Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and experience in reporting program results;
·Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines;
·Valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle is required.
