This is a day shift position
Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, this position will work closely with Production and Green Team to implement the necessary changes and/or repair of equipment that will result in positive improvements to overall plant efficiency.
Core Competencies Required:
- Certified Industrial Millwright or Electrician
- Proficient Excel skills
- High level of interpersonal/communication skills in order to work effectively with others, motivate employees
- Knowledge of welding practices
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong maintenance and preventative maintenance knowledge
- 3 – 5 years of supervision experience
- Must be reliable, organized and have attention to detail
Primary Responsibilities
· Supervise, direct and assist in various seasonal projects such as greenhouse maintenance and repairs, mobile equipment repair, greenhouse improvement, electrical and production projects, housing and property projects
· Review and analyze project specifications, coordinate materials and contractors
· Coordinate day-to-day operations of the maintenance shop including determining priority on needed repairs and improvements, establishing project priorities and assigning work tasks, scheduling work to most effectively meet One Floral needs
· Schedule maintenance staff, maintain up to date schedule while meeting labor budget
· Schedule and assign work in electrical, painting, plumbing, heating, ventilating, repairing and train and evaluate maintenance personnel
· Supervise and direct the maintenance staff by providing training and development, and monitoring and evaluating work performance
· Confer with Managers and other staff regarding maintenance projects such as progress reports, work evaluations and project details
· Document departmental activity, work orders, maintenance schedules and other incidental record keeping
· Maintain an ongoing Preventative Maintenance system for the facility
· Ensure proper operation of facilities under the maintenance function requirements
· Two-way communication to ensure consistency
· Other duties as required

- Conduct performance appraisals for workers’ safety performance.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Report unsafe conditions and practices to prevent injuries and property loss.
- Follow Health and Safety policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook, the Occupational Health & Safety Act, and other relevant codes and standards.
Working Conditions
· Work is primarily performed in the greenhouse (in varying temperatures)
· Most of the work requires physical effort
· Medium exposure to physical risk
· Weekends and holidays required, when necessary, to meet business/customer requirements.
· Be on call to be available for specific emergencies
