About the role:


As a Maintenance Supervisor of our client's close-knit Maintenance Team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment and machinery are maintained and serviced according to schedule, identifying and addressing any issues that arise, and coordinating the work of maintenance staff.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Identify and recommend new equipment and technology that can improve efficiency and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Utilize computerized maintenance management software to generate and delegate work orders, and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, codes, and standards related to maintenance activities.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of maintenance staff, including scheduling, training, and performance management.
  • Ensure that all equipment and machinery are maintained and serviced according to schedule, and identify and address any issues that arise.
  • Liaise with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure that equipment downtime is minimized.
  • Develop and implement safety procedures and protocols for maintenance activities, and ensure that they are followed by maintenance staff.
  • Supervise the daily maintenance of production equipment and provide support to mechanics and electricians as necessary, working collaboratively with them to ensure optimal performance.

What you will bring:


  • Familiarity with Allen Bradley VFDs is desired.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to identify and address issues in a timely manner.
  • An understanding of control systems with an emphasis on PLCs, SCADA, or HMI systems is desired.
  • Familiarity with Canadian electrical and safety requirements is required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with other departments and stakeholders.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, an understanding of electrical systems, and experience with maintenance procedures and protocols.
  • The candidate should know the Electric Code and international standards.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, and experience supervising maintenance staff.
  • The candidate should be able to troubleshoot control systems effectively.
  • Familiarity with dairy production processes.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting PI&D drawings is desired.
  • Programming experience using Allen Bradley ControlLogix and CompactLogix is a plus.
  • Millwright certification of qualification with at least 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in the Dairy Industry is highly preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing maintenance, along with proficiency in plant maintenance software, is required.
  • Strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations, codes, and standards related to maintenance activities.
  • The candidate should possess specific knowledge of GMPs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
