Job Summary

The ideal candidate is inherently curious, has mature interpersonal skills and has meticulous attention-to-detail. Prior M&A experience is critical and required. Knowledge of software is also an asset. This is a great opportunity for someone who has either heavily involved in M&A/strategy consulting projects or have led multiple M&A transactions. You will join a prolific acquiror and learn through the highly successful acquisition culture of Constellation Software. You will have opportunity to participate in the entire M&A due diligence process from deal sourcing, strategy analysis, market research and/or financial modeling as well as managing successful software companies. You will be an integral part of the Portfolio and be able to have wide-open opportunities to progress within the organization in the long-term.


Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate creativity, persistence, and credibility in reaching out to Owners, Operators and C-Suite leadership
  • Help develop and execute of our M&A strategy (i.e. coverage and valuation)
  • Some travel required for on-site DD or industry conferences when travel is allowed
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests in a high-pressure and time-sensitive environment – conduct research to identify and map out potentially attractive markets and software companies to acquire
  • Identify and qualify leads for high interest M&A opportunities to move along the M&A funnel
  • After learning our business model and processes, you will have the opportunity to lead acquisition transactions from initial evaluation through to integration hand-off
  • Perform industry and trend research, market analysis and market sizing
  • Build a robust pipeline of companies for potential acquisitions
  • Understand and articulate Volaris’ acquisition criteria and unique value proposition to owners of target software businesses – both verbally and in writing
  • Proactively initiate and maintain relationships with owners of software businesses and brokers through email, phone, LinkedIn, conferences / tradeshows and other in-person meetings
  • Responsible for financial modeling, due diligence (including project managing our functional and business unit teams), and build investment mem to be presented to our investment committee


Skills and Experience

  • Experience with software M&A is a plus
  • Exceptional organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter with ability to take ownership and initiatives to get things done
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills – creative and resourceful
  • 5+ years of experience; previous experience in mgmt. consulting, top-tier PE/asset mgmt preferred
  • Highly inquisitive and a fast learner
  • Strong academic record from undergraduate and/or graduate degree
