You will be responsible for assisting the Pharmacists and Pharmacy Manager with daily operations of the Pharmacy Department. As a London Drugs LTC regulated pharmacy technician, it means providing care in a collaborative care environment involving doctors, nurses, dieticians and social workers in a community-oriented working environment that fosters professional excellence. Pharmacists are provided with a working environment that stresses professionalism. You will be given the tools and opportunity to practice your profession in a well designed pharmacy, which helps optimize patient care
LTC duties include but not limited to preparing and verifying medication orders to be distributed to homes, ensuring efficient production of blister and strip packaging, organization and cleanliness within the pharmacy. There may be times the Regulated Technician will need to service the front-store dispensary. These duties will include customer service, telephone inquiries and general housekeeping duties. Additionally, you will operate the pharmacy computer and assist in the processing of prescriptions and preparation of prescriptions. Other responsibilities will include involvement of ordering and receiving drug orders and management of the pharmacy department inventory. Regulated pharmacy technicians must have completed all required national and provincial Regulated Pharmacy Technician programs and passed the exams. - Basic computer skills.
- Ability to relate to all levels of customers and their needs.
- Registration with the College of Pharmacists (in the province of employment) is mandatory.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure in a very fast paced environment
- Self-starter with a high level of enthusiasm.
- Ability to work as a team player and have a team approach
- Experience with Kroll and PACMED system preferable.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Good interpersonal skills when dealing with clients, staff, & management.
