Job Summary
Episcopal Church Home, a 131 bed Skilled Nursing Facility located in St. Paul, is looking for a passionate Life Enhancement Coordinator to join our department. This position would be full time working Monday through Friday. The Life Enhancement Assistant is primarily responsible for all aspects of meaningful engagement for our residents including setting up activities, transporting residents, facilitating activities, and clean up. This role's primary focus is meaningful engagement in all of its forms, including large groups, small groups and one-on-one. The Life Enhancement Assistant will work as part of a team to create and plan functions on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. The focus of our department is engaging with residents in all dimensions of wellness - physical, emotional, spiritual, occupational and intellectual. The ideal candidate is comfortable engaging with residents of all kinds and abilities and strives for inclusion and a spirit of fun.

Essential Functions
  • Ability to assist with state-specific charting, such as assessments and progress notes.
  • Quick thinking, ability to change activities quickly if needs dictate.
  • Work collaboratively with Life Enhancement Director to support life enhancement across ECH.
  • Comfortable with leading a group both large and small.
  • A love of elders and passion for enhancing lives through meaningful engagement.
  • Ability to work as part of a team for a greater purpose.
  • Interest in getting to know all residents to provide person-centered life enrichment.
  • Assist with the overall operation of the Life Enhancement Department. Charting, developing and implementing care plans, quarterly assessments in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the Life Enrichment Director.
  • Interest in thinking creatively, finding new ways to better engage residents.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Full-Time, 40hrs/week
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma required
  • Experience working in senior living
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Occupational Therapy or related health care field; current or eligible for certification as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist or registered as an Occupational Therapist preferred.
