LEGISLATIVE AND CORPORATE INITIATIVES COORDINATOR
Our incredible team at the Town of Edson is looking for a Legislative and Corporate Initiatives Coordinator to join our community-motivated organization. We are a town focused on celebrating the local; proud of our pioneering history; supportive of our neighbours and invested in the vibrancy of our recreational and cultural programming.
We know that the success of our organization is dependent on our people, and we are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable professional to fill the vital this vital role. This position supports the advancement of strategic priorities, corporate planning, and government relations and works closely with internal and external stakeholders, including the public.
This role is best suited for an individual with extensive experience in project management as well as practical knowledge in the development, implementation, and monitoring of communications and governmental strategies.
We are looking for a motivated individual that has a high level of understanding of the municipal policy and legislative framework. It is critical for the candidate to have the ability to develop and maintain effective, functional relationships while having excellent communication and strong organizational skills.
Our ideal candidate leads with a forward-thinking approach that contributes to a team environment, is skilled in research, has highly developed writing, editing, and verbal skills, and is proficient with policy development. There is a requirement to possess reasonable fluency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint), and to have the capacity to learn other systems and platforms that may be necessary in the position.
In addition to the above, we require applicants to possess:
- Post-Secondary Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Public Administration or a related field
- Experience in a political environment and in government relations is considered an asset
- Completion of or working towards a National Advanced Certificate in Local Authority Administration (NACLAA) Level I or II or Certified Local Government Manager (CLGM) designation is preferred
- 3-5 years of progressively responsible municipal work experience, preferably with a focus on Legislative Services

Compensation
The wage range for this position is $81,500 to $97,500 per year. Candidate placement within the range during the first six months on the job is dependent on experience and available budget.
