Reporting to the Manager, Community and Student Affairs, the incumbent supports a special Literacy and Basic Skills government funded program to help military spouses at Garrison Petawawa to transition into post-secondary education. This multi-faceted role requires the incumbent to support the overall delivery of the program including working collaboratively with team members, building external relationships with the military community, marketing and promoting the project, inputting and reporting data to the ministry on clients who access the program and supporting the academic delivery of programming.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of two (2) years' college diploma in Business, Business Administration, Office Administrative-Executive, Marketing or related field;
  • Experience planning and delivering events such as career fairs, networking fairs or speaker series activities;
  • Understanding of military way of life is an asset;
  • Client service skills with an ability to build trust with military spouses and greater military community;
  • Organizational skills;
  • Solid understanding/use of current software (Microsoft office, Canva, Word Press, etc.);
  • Position is paid at Payband 8
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to make public presentations;
  • Conflict resolution skills;
  • Vacancy is for P20075
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working in a front line educational/training/career planning/employment preparation support role;
  • Ability to independently organize time and priorities;
  • Previous experience working within a post-secondary environment or military family resource centre is an asset;
  • Valid Class G Ontario Driver's license.
Anticipated Schedule
Monday, Tuesday and Friday - 8 hours/day
Total hours: 24 hours per week
