Core Duties And Responsibilities

• Report safety incidents and or infractions.
• Assist with a variety of construction, repair, installation and maintenance activities.
• Complete yard moisture sampling.
• Perform cleaning tasks and projects daily as assigned by your supervisor.
• Ensure the highest level of safety standards, including compliance with all applicable government regulations and corporate policies.
• Operate a variety of equipment and tools related to maintenance.
• Participate in continuous improvement and quality control.
• Operate mobile equipment as assigned.

• Level 3 Occupational First Aid training is available for interested employees.
• Drax offers opportunities to grow your skills and experience with potential career movement into railcar loader, loader operator, plant operator and leadership positions.
• On site certified equipment training is provided for employees including man lift, skid-steer, and forklift certification.
• Apprenticeship opportunities exist in trades careers such as millwright, electrician, or heavy-duty mechanic – we select 100% internal candidates into these growth opportunities.

Minimum Requirements (Experience, Education, Qualifications, Skills, Abilities)

• You are a strong communicator.
• You are a team player with excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to complete online and paper forms or basic checklists.
• You are adaptable to changes in work schedule and tasks as required.
• A valid driver's license is required to get to and from the site.
• Level 3 First Aid Certification would be considered an asset.
• Good mechanical aptitude would be considered an asset.
• Experience in an industrial environment will be considered an asset.
• Control room operator experience would be considered an asset.

The Location: Meadowbank Plant
Our Meadowbank Plant is located ten minutes South of Hixon, British Columbia, Canada which is approximately 45 Kilometers from Quesnel, BC and 75 kilometers away from Prince George, BC. This position requires a daily commute by vehicle to and from the site. Willingness and the ability to drive to and from work each day will be a requirement of the role.
