Job Description
Dawson Road Maintenance // Are you looking for a chance to be part of something big, something meaningful, something important? How about keeping our vital transportation infrastructure — our necessary roads, highways and bridges — safe for B.C. families and businesses!


Dawson Road Maintenance operates a diverse fleet of specialized equipment using the latest in technology, including GPS-tracking backed by real-time weather forecasts. From winter snow to avalanches, mud slides or washouts, we work hard to make sure our highways are open and safe for the travelling public.


In this role you will be a valued member of Dawson Road Maintenance, working as a temporary, full-time, Labourer, reporting to: Road Foreman. To be considered for this role, you should have good knowledge of safety around equipment, an eagerness to learn, and a strong work ethic. What Success Looks Like


  • Conduct pre-shift inspections and report any concerns or malfunctions to supervisors
  • Prioritize safety of yourself and your team in all aspects of the job
  • Take actions to avoid potential hazards or obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, or falling objects
  • Operate tools and machines to spread, smooth, and level cracks and joints in asphalt on road beds
  • Inspect, clean, maintain, and repair equipment
  • Learn and follow safety regulations
  • Perform all necessary work while complying with all company policies and procedures


What You Bring


  • Flagging experience is an asset
  • Certifications and applicable tickets are an asset
  • Minimum two (2) years previous crack sealing or paving experience
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Be available for on call work
