Laboratory Technician (12 Mth Fixed-Term)

About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Laboratory Technician to join our GeneMark team. You will be joining the Operations & Service Group and reporting to the GeneMark Laboratory Team Leader.

This is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity, covering a period of secondment.

Your role will be responsible for preparation and testing of bovine tissue, blood and semen samples for DNA profiling in the GeneMark Laboratory. Alongside this you will maintain the operation of the laboratory within the required ISO standards, including the maintenance and calibration of the laboratory equipment. Your key focus will include:

• To receive, prepare, analyse and report results for samples accurately
• Help implement and maintain ISO 17025 quality standards for all laboratory practices

About You

We are looking for an experienced laboratory technician technically skilled in DNA extraction, PCR and instruments, and experienced in ISO 17025 implementation. Attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot effectively are essential to be successful in this role. A tertiary degree in Science would be an advantage.

You will possess agility, flexibility, resilience, excellent communication and collaboration skills, empathy for our clients with a strong focus on customer delivery.
