Junior Estimator Jobs

Summary:

As our company grows, we are seeking a motivated Junior Estimator to join our team.

The Junior Estimator will report to the Director of Estimating and provide accurate quantity takeoffs.This person will also assist the company directors, superintendents and supervisors in daily tasks. This role may include project coordination and require site visits periodically.

Responsibilities:

· Accurate and timely interpretation of project drawings, specifications, scope of work and projectdocumentation.

· Accurate take-off of quantities from project drawings and specifications.

· Preparation of a detailed estimate from first principals using PlanSwift estimating software.

· Prepare and distribute RFQ’s and solicit quotations and proposals from suppliers and subcontractors.

· Review, analyze and check for completeness of bid documents.

· Assist with tender closing and delivery of tenders when required.

· Assist and monitor the project schedule.

· Assist with job cost setup and monitor project performance.

· Assist in project planning and scheduling.

Requirements:

· Previous experience in estimating projects.

· Experience with estimating software and spreadsheet design.

. Graduate form recognized engineering, architectural or construction management program an asset.

· Knowledge of cost control techniques and material pricing

· Effective written, verbal communication and presentation skills

· Strong computer skills using MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, Planswift

· Valid Class G License and own vehicle.

· Deadline driven with strong ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast pace environment

· Solid team player with positive attitude
