Java Application Developer - Finance (Remote)

Our client, a SaaS company specializing in Cloud-based cash processing Fintech and logistics software, 1 last spot left on a their development team. We are seeking a skilled Java developer with Spring framework and IDE experience (e.g. Eclipse/IntelliJ) and AWS to expand their team which collaborates on enhancements and additions to their suite of tools and work with clients on gathering new requests. In this role , you will get an opportunity to work with massive data sets on some really impactful applications.

Role: Java Application Developer - Finance (remote)

Type: Permanent, Full time

Location: Toronto area, (remote)

Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 + benefits + vacation +sick days + potential stock

- What You’ll Be Doing

• Collaborate with partners and internal staff on new projects
• Self-management of small projects covering development, testing, and delivery
• Participate in ongoing development of a suite of cloud-based web (Java) and mobile (Vaadin, Android) applications

Qualifications

• Experience with Eclipse IDE platform (or IntelliJ, VisualStudio)
• Skilled in Java development including efficient function design and popular design patterns
• Experience with Agile methodologies
• Proven ability to meet deadlines
• Experience with GIT
• Must be authorized to work in Canada
• Skilled in object-oriented concepts including abstraction, encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism, and reflection
• Experience in navigating large code bases
• Knowledge of traditional and newer databases (e.g. SQL, Redis, DynamoDB) is an important asset
• Experience working within Spring framework
• Minimum 5+ years software development business experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Prior experience working within Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment
