Job Description
Our Edmonton-base utilities client is requires an IT Specialist (M365 Platform) for a 8 month contract with possible extensions.
The Microsoft 365 Platform Specialist is responsible for providing operational and project support for Microsoft 365 services within the organization. This role involves analyzing, troubleshooting, and optimizing Microsoft 365 applications, collaborating with stakeholders, and implementing best practices to ensure efficient and effective use of Microsoft 365 tools. The analyst will play a critical role in supporting the organization's productivity, collaboration, and communication initiatives by proactively monitoring, maintaining, and enhancing the Microsoft 365 environment.

  • Maintain documentation of operational processes, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides for Microsoft 365 services.
  • Collaborate with IS teams to ensure Microsoft 365 services are integrated with existing infrastructure and meet security, compliance, and data protection requirements.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot user-reported problems related to Microsoft 365 applications, including Exchange Online,Teams (Teams Voice), OneDrive, and other associated services.
  • Participate in the evaluation, testing, and deployment of new Microsoft 365 technologies, updates, and enhancements.
  • Monitor the performance and availability of Microsoft 365 services, identify issues, and promptly resolve or escalate them as appropriate.
Qualifications
Skill Set (Mandatory)The resource for the position will need to have established skills in the following areas:
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and related applications
  • Administrative scripting and reporting.
  • Familiarity with Azure Purview Data Loss Prevention (DLP),
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration, configuration, and security best practices.
Skill Set (Preferred)The resource should possess the following qualifications:
  • 2 years planning and executing Microsoft 365 migrations and deployments.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals, Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert)
  • Ability to understand and communicate key concepts.
  • 2-year post-secondary diploma or a 4-year post-secondary degree in IT or Computing Science related field.
  • Understanding of IT business continuity, security, and other risk assessment and optimization methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills.
