The Spring Investing Collective is Canada’s national impact investing angel network. The Collective is a non-profit arm of Spring that was launched in November of 2022 and is rapidly scaling to over 80+ members by providing angel investors with access to Canadian impact deal flow, an online and in-person peer community, and education around angel investing and impact.

The Opportunity

Spring is hiring for a new Spring Investing Collective (SIC) Investment Associate - someone who is excited to support a new initiative that is bringing impact investing at the forefront for retail and accredited investors across Canada and significantly contribute in steering the direction of a rapidly scaling national network. This role is for someone who excels at stakeholder engagement and understands the needs of investors and early stage companies. This role also requires experience in operations, an understanding of startup ecosystems, and an entrepreneurial drive. Overall we seek someone who loves to work with both founders and investors and is looking for an opportunity to grow alongside a scaling impact-oriented organization.

What you will be doing:

• Build resources and processes for member management from onboarding through their membership journey
• Share insights, community stories, and promotional materials to grow the network’s brand through managing the Collective’s LinkedIn engagement
• Process management of the deal intake, screening, and review process for early stage impact startups seeking to present to the network
• Support with deal sourcing and screening in accordance with the network’s thesis
• Support and lead the design and delivery of online and in-person events for investors built on creative relational design concepts
• Foster member engagement through managing communications materials such as newsletters and social media groups
• Support the design and delivery of educational resources for investors based on feedback from the community
• Champion the network across Canada through building relationships and partnerships in the ecosystem alongside the Managing Director

We are a match if you are:

• Have communication experience with profiles such as investors, board members or senior management
• Have experience with CRM systems (ideally HubSpot), Notion, Slack, and GSuite
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage a diverse array of projects at once
• A proactive and creative problem solver
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities according to changing demands
• Have broad experience with the early stage venture ecosystem and language of the industry
• Energized by connecting with and supporting people
• Resourceful and entrepreneurial
• Passionate about impact and making the world better than it is today

Compensation:

• Open to candidates across major cities in Canada. The company is based in Vancouver, with this role’s Manager being based in Toronto - able to work from home & a co-working space available for connecting with the team.
• Work with a people-focused, values-based organization with a global reach
• As a full-time employee, a starting salary of $65,000 CAD
• Access to Spring’s Benefits Package including an $800 home office stipend and a $1,000 health stipend prorated for the year.
• 15 days of paid vacation per year with 5 Personal Health Days
• Company-wide time off between Christmas and New Year as additional paid time off beyond provincial Holidays
