Position Summary:

Our next Intermediate Software Developer will be an addition to the team that will play an integral part in the evolution of the StickerYou platform. This person will report directly to the VP of Product and Technology and help accelerate the ongoing development of our leading edge StickerYou platform to better enable our B2C and B2B customers to design and order our products. Improving the tools our customers use and our internal systems to become more efficient are seen as key drivers to achieving our growth and profitability targets over the next few years. You’ll be joining a solid team of experienced developers who will be happy to share their business and technical knowledge with someone who can help them share, divide and conquer their ambitious objectives.

We’re modernizing our development platform and you’ll be play a part in helping to migrate the best of what we already have as well as building new products based on C# .NET Core, EF Core, JavaScript, Reactjs, MS SQL Server and Azure.

Responsibilities

• Frequently communicate with colleagues to review progress
• Assist and drive development of use cases and tracking of always evolving requirements.
• Participate in documenting technical solutions; provide technical training and mentoring to other development team members.
• Solve problems, analyze and weigh alternatives and determine the appropriate course of action.
• Work in a small team environment with Development and QA to execute software projects using Agile Scrum methodology.
• Work with the QA team to ensure accuracy and solution integrity.
• Design, develop and support StickerYou web, windows and cloud applications utilizing modern web technologies: C# .NET Core, EF Core, MS SQL Server and Azure

Qualifications

• 4+ years development with C# and MVC ASP.NET or ASP.NET Core
• Experience working with team productivity tools like Subversion, Git, Jira, Confluence/Wiki
• 3+ years of experience with Entity Framework or other data access frameworks (recent EF Core would be a definite asset)
• Experience with Agile and Scrum
• Experience using Microsoft Visual Studio 2017 or 2019
• A solid understanding of on-premise and on-cloud paradigms
• University degree or college diploma in Computer Sciences
• 2+ years developing UI front-end event-driven JavaScript frameworks (ideally with React)
• Strong communication skills - both verbal and written
• Demonstrated understanding of object oriented programming, software design patterns and development best practices
• 7+ years design and implementation of entire web and windows based .NET application with MS SQL Server
• Proficiency with web technologies and principles including::HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, CSS, Bootstrap, cross-browser compatibility and SEO

Experience with the following is not required but is considered an asset:

• Microsoft Azure Storage, Azure Serverless, Azure App Platform, .Net Core
• Experience working with PDF documents and any third party libraries
• Experience integrating with third party APIs: Sendgrid, PayPal API, Payment Processors, etc
• DevOps, CD/CI, Unit and Integration Testing
• Microservices Architecture and Implementations, DDD Modeling, Eventing
• Familiarity with graphical design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator
