An exciting opportunity is available for a full-time Instrumentation and Controls Engineer P.ENG/EIT to work in our Hamilton Office! Join a dynamic, growing team of professional engineers and designers with innovative projects coupled with the opportunity to develop your career.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Specify field instrumentation and control hardware
• Comply with all internal and external policies, procedures, standards, regulations, and rules
• Apply approved specifications necessary to create a complete drawing package and complete CAD work as required
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior technicians/engineers
• Design systems for Control, Instrumentation and Safety applications
• Be able to lead the installation, commissioning, start-up and troubleshooting of control systems
• Develop specifications and standards based on legislation, industry standards and plant requirements
• Complete drawing checking in accordance with JNE standards
• Deliver projects within budget in a safe and timely manner
• Assist with field testing, start-up, and training

Advanced knowledge of applications related to:

• Control Systems (PLC, DCS, SCADA, HMI, PAC) with preferred knowledge of Rockwell or Siemens Automation systems
• Regulatory codes, standards, and specifications
• Electrical schematics and panel layouts
• Programming and software development
• Process Control Safety
• Process Analyzers & Sensors
• Network Architectures & Operating Technology Security
• Combustion Safety
• Process Control
• Piping & Instrumentation Drawings
• Instrumentation and Control Valves
• AC and DC VFDs (PowerFlex, SINAMICS)

Qualification, Skills and Education

• Proficiency in the use of Programming Software, Database and Historians for Industrial Control Applications
• 5+ years relevant working experience
• Organized and self-directed, task and goal oriented
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to think logically and creatively
• P. Eng. or E.I.T. preferred
• 3+ years AutoCAD experience
• Desire and ability to learn new software, applications, knowledge, and skills
• Effective, efficient, and professional in the execution of all required tasks
