Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Calculations for Instrument sizing.
  • Construction/Engineering work packages.
  • Take responsibility for the Instrumentation and Controls tasks and deliverable to meet quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
  • Philosophy Documents (Narratives, Cause and Effects).
  • Material Requisitions & Bid evaluations.
  • Data sheets and Instrument Index.
  • Produce/assist with specifications and detailed design of Instrumentation and Controls systems, including:
  • Scope of Work documents.
  • Instrument Installation Details

·Ensure that all project instrumentation codes, specifications & guidelines are distributed to instrumentation engineers prior to commencing instrumentation design.

  • Support designers with instrument installation details and wiring designs
  • Assist with site commissioning and start-up
  • Controls system configuration


Qualifications

  • Experience to work on multiple projects at the same time.
  • Instrumentation Diploma or higher 4 - 10 years Instrumentation experience in the oil and gas industry

·Have good understanding of CSA B149.3 and NFPA 85/86/87

  • Experience with various control systems (PLC and DCS) and HMI systems
  • Familiar with the CSA, NEC, IEC Electrical codes and standard.
  • Safety engineering certification would be an asset (Exida or TUV)
  • Familiar with applicable international instrumentation standards
  • Familiarity and experience with IEC61508 and IEC61511
