Located on Granville and 12th, Heirloom Restaurant is seeking a friendly, professional, and passionate Host/Hostess to join our team. The Host/Hostess will play a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests, ensuring they have a memorable visit from the moment they step through our doors.

Responsibilities

• Sanitation and Cleanliness:
• Assistance with Special Events:
• Assist in setting up and breaking down tables as needed, contributing to overall cleanliness and orderliness.
• Develop a deep understanding of the restaurant's plant-forward menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and flavor profiles.
• Answer guest inquiries about the menu, offering recommendations and describing dishes with enthusiasm.
• Collaborate with the restaurant team to coordinate reservations and ensure timely seating.
• Collaborate with colleagues to address any operational challenges and maintain a smooth service flow.
• Guest Welcome and Seating:
• Guide guests to their tables, providing them with menus and any relevant information about the day's offerings.
• Reservation Management:
• Anticipate guest needs and preferences, providing exceptional service to enhance their dining experience.
• Assist guests with coats, bags, and other personal items as needed.
• Guest Experience:
• Manage the flow of guests, taking reservations and walk-ins efficiently to optimize table occupancy.
• Create a warm and inviting atmosphere that reflects the restaurant's values and mission.
• Communication:
• Support the coordination and execution of special events, private parties, and celebrations, ensuring all guest needs are met.
• Effectively communicate with the waitstaff and kitchen team to manage table turnover and ensure a seamless dining experience.
• Greet guests warmly as they arrive, exhibiting a positive and friendly attitude.
• Menu Knowledge:
• Maintain an organized reservation system, accurately recording guest information, special requests, and table preferences.
• Maintain a clean and organized host stand and waiting area, adhering to the restaurant's cleanliness standards.
• Maintaining washroom cleanliness and stock.
• Handle guest concerns or complaints with professionalism and sensitivity, seeking solutions to ensure guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
