Head of Art


Are you a passionate and experienced Art educator looking for an exciting leadership opportunity? Dunbar Education, a trusted recruiting agent, is delighted to present an excellent vacancy for a Head of Art at an Ofsted 'good' 11-18 mixed academy in North-west London


Position: Head of Art


School Context: The school is a forward-thinking educational institution located in Brent, North-west London. With a strong commitment to academic excellence and holistic student development, the school provides a supportive and inclusive learning environment for its diverse student population.


Responsibilities:


  • Encouraging student participation in extracurricular Art activities and competitions.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the school to promote cross-curricular projects and initiatives.
  • Ensuring that the department's resources and facilities are well-maintained and conducive to promoting creativity.
  • Leading and managing the Art department, inspiring a team of talented educators to deliver exceptional teaching and learning experiences.
  • Developing and implementing a creative and innovative Art curriculum that aligns with the school's academic objectives and fosters students' artistic talents.
  • Monitoring and evaluating student progress, providing timely feedback, and implementing strategies to support individual development.


Requirements:


  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to motivate and mentor a team of educators.
  • Qualified teacher status with a strong background in Art education.
  • Significant experience teaching Art at various levels, with a track record of achieving excellent results.
  • A creative and progressive approach to Art education, incorporating innovative teaching methods and technologies.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and parents.


Contract and Benefits:


  • MPS/UPS salary (inner London) + TLR based on qualifications and experience.
  • This is a full-time, permanent leadership position with opportunities for professional growth and advancement within the school.
