Job Description
The starting wage for this position is $19.50/ hour


Make the Banff Gondola experience as inspiring, fun, informative and genuine and as possible for all guest experience team members and guests


  • Serve as the escalation point for customer service issues, handle customer concerns and react quickly and professionally
  • Second language skills highly advantageous
  • Attention to detail and good communication and listening skills with local and international guests and staff
  • Execute all work in a safe, professional manner in compliance with H&S and our Always Honest Policy
  • Ability to thrive and lead in a fast-paced environment
  • Perform the duties of a Guest Experience Expert as required
  • Act as the supervisor on duty - take charge of all guest services and cash handling security for the Banff Gondola
  • Support, coach and ensure that each member of the front office team provides upbeat and professional guest service that goes above and beyond our guests’ expectations
  • Seasonal work experience in an iconic, unforgettable, and inspiring location
  • First Aid Training an asset
  • Proven leadership skills and a passion for coaching and developing employee skills
  • Ensure all areas of the Front Office operations meet expectations from cleanliness standards, employee appearance, customer service, safety and environmental standards
  • Accuracy and efficiency in handling large amounts of cash ($CAD and $US) and debit/credit transactions under fast-paced and busy conditions
  • Strong customer focus providing friendly, professional and efficient service

  • Coordinate management of the Front Office to ensure a smooth operation, problem solve on the spot when required, report technical issues in a timely manner

  • Demonstrate high levels of positive energy and a willingness to take on new challenges
  • Physical demands including constant use of hands, repetitive actions and speaking, sitting/standing for long periods of time, frequent bending/twisting, working outdoors, and may lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.

This is a full-time, seasonal position starting in July 2023.

The Photo Expert role will provide exceptional service to our guests in the form of in-depth of high energy customer engagement.


Responsibilities include


  • Monitoring store security, facilitating efficient inventory management and movement
  • Works well in a team environment as well as independently
  • Responsible handling of cash, credit cards, and cash out forms
  • Accountable reporting any cash or transaction discrepancies
  • Ensuring service is friendly, courteous and professional
  • To honor our commitment to be “Always Honest” all employees must consent to a criminal record and credit check
  • Strong team player
  • Assisting gift shop staff on sales floor when necessary
  • Capture quality photos of our customers enjoying their experience, and sell the photo product
  • Diligently following Health & Safety standard operation procedures daily
  • Upholding the high standard of environmental stewardship that is expected of all employees
  • Strong desire to live and experience everything Banff National Park has to offer
  • Highly reliable
  • Second language an asset
  • Basic knowledge on operating a DSLR camera
  • Uphold our high standards of service, merchandising, and display
  • Keeping the sales floor and storage areas clean and organized
  • Up-selling to additional / supplemental photo products
  • Communicate with co-workers and management, forward observations and comments in a timely fashion
  • Enthusiastic, high energy, and out-going personality, ability to use this to engage with guests
  • Cash handling experience
  • Taking a genuine interest in the guest and identifying needs
  • Operating the point of sale system with accuracy and efficiency
  • Able to take initiative on restocking, re-merchandising, and regular cleaning duties
  • Excellent communication skills, especially with non-native English speakers
