Position


Reporting to the Centre Director, Centre for Cities and Communities, this position will create, manage, lead and execute the Centre’s strategic initiatives. The success candidate will support revenue generation and promote the growth and success of the Centre for Cities and Communities, Student Consulting Group. This includes execution of business development activities, Centre administration tasks and leading event creation and development at the School that generates excitement, facilitates the building of relationships and creates a sense of purpose for the Centre’s community and students.


Duties


  • Creates consistent and clear communication reports and summaries
  • Works with the School’s marketing team to ensure cohesion and support
  • Monitors revenues and expenses related to budget
  • Prepares financial summaries for project and events
  • Plans and manages all aspects of Centre’s events including all logistics
  • Prepares annual budget for Student Consulting Group projects, events and special projects; ensures compliance with project budgets and spending
  • Responsible for the development of communication and marketing for the Centre’s events and initiatives
  • Seeks and retains event sponsors
  • Manages student consulting group projects, deadlines and quality assurance
  • Monitors account receivables and follows up on outstanding payments
  • Prepares PCARD reports and other expense reports
  • Develops project proposals, sponsorship documents, grant submissions and other business development documents
  • Responsible for execution of marketing outreach to promote engagement and interest in the Centre
  • Develops and builds relationships with prospect new clients to expand new business


Qualifications


  • Self-learner and self-starter with ability to work collaboratively
  • 3+ years relevant experience including project management and research
  • Experience with grant and proposal writing; strong communication with excellent writing skills
  • Proven success in exceeding targets and creating business development
  • Proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office; ability to organize complex data
  • A Bachelor's degree in Commerce or related field is required
  • Knowledge around government subsidies and grant applications would be considered an asset
  • Demonstrates ability to develop and maintain positive, professional, collaborative working relationships with stakeholders from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds and at all organizational levels
