We're looking for a highly creative and experienced Graphic Design Manager to lead and oversee our dynamic graphic design team, which includes both in-house designers and freelance artists. The ideal candidate is passionate about art and design trends, has a keen sense of creative aesthetics and a proven track record in managing design projects from conception to completion. This position requires a balance of leadership, practical creative design skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver compelling visual solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Design leadership Lead and inspire the graphic design team to produce innovative, high-quality visual designs consistent with our brand identity and objectives. Provide advice, mentoring and creative guidance to internal and external designers.
Project Management
Manage end-to-end design projects from initial concept to final execution, ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather project requirements and objectives, and collaborate with designers to translate these requirements and objectives into visually appealing solutions.
Hands-on-Design
Use your creative design expertise to create and contribute to a variety of design projects, including, but not limited to, digital assets, print materials, branding materials, and more.
Team Collaboration
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development and content creation, to understand their design needs and deliver creative design solutions that align with their goals.
Freelance Management
Manage relationships with freelance designers, including selecting appropriate freelance designers for specific projects, setting clear expectations, providing feedback and ensuring timely delivery of high quality work.
Quality Assurance
Review and approve design work to ensure it meets the highest standards of quality, accuracy and brand consistency.
Experience & Attributes
- 3 to 5 years' experience as a graphic designer with a focus on digital design in the B2C and B2B sectors.
- Comprehensive portfolio demonstrating expertise in print and digital design, showcasing a range of styles and project types (newsletters, email, social media, digital, traditional, etc.).
- Proficiency in standard design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant digital design tools.
- Experience in the fashion, beauty and luxury industries preferred.
- Solid understanding of design principles, typography, color theory and composition.
- Experience in brand and logo design, with the ability to create consistent brand identities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and collaborate effectively with clients and team members.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proactive problem-solver with the ability to anticipate challenges and propose creative solutions. - A degree in graphic design, visual communications or a related field is an asset.
- You are a team player, creative, solution-oriented, flexible in the face of ambiguity and highly organized.
