Westlake Paving & Aggregates, a division of Lafarge Canada Inc., operating in the Okanagan Valley is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Grader Foreperson to join our team. As the Grader Foreperson, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of the prep crew, ensuring that all equipment is properly maintained, and adhering to safety standards. You will play a key role in ensuring that our projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

- Communicate effectively with other members of the team, including project managers, supervisors, and crew members.
- Ensure that all work areas are kept clean and organized.
- Assist in the training and development of new crew members as needed.
- Ensure that all equipment is properly maintained, serviced, and repaired as necessary.
- Adhere to safety protocols and ensure that all crew members are following safety guidelines and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and other relevant information.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the prep crew to ensure that all projects are completed efficiently and to the required specifications.
- Proficient in the use of relevant tools and equipment, including but not limited to excavators, bulldozers, and graders.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and procedures, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with crew members, project managers, and other stakeholders.
- High school diploma or equivalent required, with additional technical or vocational training preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and other technical documents.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role in the paving and aggregates industry.
Competencies:
- Able to work in a fast-paced, high-production environment
- Time and self-management skills as part of a team or independently
- Able to lift 55 lbs
- Safety Oriented
- Demonstrate strong skills in problem-solving, decision making and multi-tasking
- Willing to work overtime and shifts when needed including Saturdays
- Mechanical aptitude
- Able to work well with others
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrates commitment to safety for oneself and others
