Responsible for the operation of the Victoria Regional Transit system, leading an extensive team to deliver transportation services our customers can rely on. Develops and implements initiatives, goals and targets to ensure a safe and reliable operation in alignment with BC Transit’s strategic plan. Sets the vision for the team to work collaboratively to deliver the best transportation solution for our customers.

We value lifelong learners and have found the following combination of education and experience allows people to be successful in this role:
- Progressive experience, which should include senior level management and leading large teams within a complex organization, with a preference given to those who have worked in a unionized environment.
- Extensive operations management experience in transportation or other complex, customer focused service industry. Track record of driving operational improvement through use of data and team engagement
- Proven leadership experience in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment. Works effectively in a cross-functional setting, excellent communication skills
- Hands on experience managing union relationships and leading through the collective bargaining process
- Proven ability to develop and implement strategies that evolves the team, adapts to changing environment and builds a positive culture of engagement.
