Company Overview

Established in 1995, H-Line Enterprises has grown to offer a wide range of services including powerline maintenance, post hole digging, tree trimming, dump truck services and excavation. H-Line is owned and operated on Prince Edward Island and is part of The Gray Family of Companies.

Reporting to the CEO of The Gray Group, the General Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations. They will manage the different departments and teams within the company to work together to ensure the business is running as productively as possible.

Responsibilities

- Overseeing daily operations of the business

- Organizing crews to ensure all trucks are operational with specified amount of crew

- Travelling to job sites daily to check productivity and deal with any issues

- Liaising with customers

- Hiring, onboarding, recognition and disciplinary functions for the team

- Conducting performance and annual evaluations

- Evaluating productivity and performance and implementing strategies for improvement

- Prioritizes, schedules and assigns work to General Foreman/Foreman/Managers based on the extent of work required, urgency and available resources

- Compilation of budgets

- Pricing up and submitting tenders for work within budgets and deadlines

- Procurement of resources for example equipment and trucks to ensure the business has what it needs to succeed

- Attends and contributes to the Monthly Health and Safety/JOSH Meetings and Staff Meetings

- Intervenes in the resolution of delicate issues regarding relationships with customers, suppliers and employees

- Coordinate storm calls

- Promotes a safe and productive workplace

Qualifications & Experience Required:

- Ability to promote the organization core values

- Excellent people management skills

- Qualified Red Seal Powerline Technician Trade Certifications

- Minimum five years' experience in a managerial role

- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

- Strategic planning skills

- Understanding of budget control, and organizational finances

- Ability to train and coach employees effectively

- Strong problem-solving skills
