Working with the Manager, Print Services the incumbent is responsible for the oversight and support of the College’s multi-function device and printer fleet. The incumbent acts as the primary contact within Print Services for all departmental inquiries related to the printer fleet including printer change requests, removals and additions, and budget related questions. The incumbent will review and process student print refund requests. As required, the incumbent will generate reports on usage requested by Print Services and Campus Services management and academic department managers and budget officers and generates month-end financial reports for monthly fleet print activity for submission to finance.
As the printer fleet subject matter expert, the incumbent is the Print Services printer fleet technology administrator, performing tasks within print management server applications for the administration of printer fleet devices, maintaining and updating records of printer fleet device deployments, evaluating and implementing workflow processes, evaluating, performing and testing vendor software updates, troubleshoot technical issues and document processes and workflow. The incumbent will liaise with ITS Services in the administration of the digital infrastructure for the College printer fleet and the Registrar’s Office for the administration of Student Print Balance entries within the printer fleet print management tools. Under the direction of the Manager, Print Services, the Print Optimization Officer provides operational support to part-time Print Services staff responsible for maintaining student-facing printers and MFD’s.
The incumbent will work with Student Print Support staff to provide guidance surrounding activities for the maintenance and maximum uptime of all public facing printers and MFD’s as well as guidance with the day-to-day operational activities required in supporting student printing. The incumbent provides technical support services for print to all stakeholders within the College. The incumbent works with ITS helpdesk, student printer fleet employees, College departments, the printer fleet vendor and key stakeholders to resolve technical issues that may arise. The incumbent in this role will maintain in-house equipment, troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion. The incumbent will provide guidance to employees and learners in the operation of printer fleet devices, provide end user coaching with printing from mobile and desktop computers, and assistance with installing and configuring applications to successfully print to College printers.
The incumbent will participate in huddles, scrums and meetings as well as other AC Way methodology with key College stakeholders to work to ensure a reliable print service and continuously work to improve the campus printing experience for the College community.
In consultation with the Manager Print Services, the incumbent participates in developing new business for the Print Shop. The incumbent meets with departments and college staff to promote print shop products and services, seeks and identifies opportunities for growth in print revenue and follows up with clients to ensure we are meeting client expectations.
Required Qualifications
  • Five (5) years experience:
  • Supporting Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, Windows OS, Android, iOS and MacOS.
  • Two (2) year diploma in a Computer Systems Technician, Computer Programming, Print Media or similar field of study.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware on a wide variety of both mobile and traditional platforms and devices.
  • This position is paid at Payband G
  • Experience in the computing devices field and troubleshooting, installing and running hardware and software.
  • Operational or administrative experience with generating reports from an enterprise level MIS or similar server-application based system.
