Job Description
MetCap Living Management Inc. is one of Canada’s largest private third-party property managers specializing in multi-residential property management. We are a growth orientated company with our head office located in Toronto, Ontario and property operations in British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.


MetCap Living Management Inc is looking for a receptionist to manage our front desk on a daily basis and to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks at our downtown Toronto office location. We are conveniently located at Richmond and Sherbourne which is accessible by streetcar and within a short walk of the subway.


Reports to: Director, Human Resources


Duties And Responsibilities


  • Greet and welcome guests as soon as they arrive at the office
  • Receive, scan, sort, and distribute daily mail/deliveries
  • Carrying supplies to 2nd and 3rd floor of office (must be able to carry up to 50 pounds and use stairs)
  • Updating internal contact directories
  • Tidying the office including kitchen area
  • Activate FOB cards for new staff/staff in communication with the IT department
  • Direct visitors to the appropriate person and office/phone line
  • Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception desk (monitor logbook, issue visitor badges)
  • Receiving rent cheques from Tenants and issuing rental receipts
  • Water head office plants
  • Arm and disarm alarm system for building at start and end of each day
  • Setting Up and expensing Courier/Deliveries via post office and Purolator
  • Answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls
  • Assist IT in the activation of FOB keys and handing out the FOB when needed
  • Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material (e.g. pens, forms and brochures)
  • Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email
  • Order front office supplies and keep inventory of stock
  • Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, transcribing and faxing
  • Keep updated records of office expenses and costs


Requirements And Skills


  • Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Customer service attitude
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. fax machines and printers)
  • Proven work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative, or similar role
  • High school degree; additional certification in Office Management is an asset
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
